Dr. Laura Castro-Aldrete
Scientific and Medical Affairs Project Manager at the Woman’s Brain Project
Dr. Laura Castro-Aldrete is Scientific and Medical Affairs Project Manager for the Women’s Brain Project (WBP). Since joining WBP in 2020, she has been leading scientific projects and managing global multistakeholder collaborations. Dr. Castro-Aldrete holds a MSc in Biotechnology and Enterprise and PhD in Neuroscience. Her academic journey is a testament to her dedication to advancing the field of neuroscience and improving the lives of those affected by neurological disorders.
Dr. Antonella Santuccione Chadha
Chief Medical Officer Altoida; Co-founder and CEO of the Womens Brain Project
Dr. Antonella Santuccione Chadha is a medical doctor with expertise in clinical pathology, neuroscience and psychiatric disorders. She is Chief Medical Officer at Altoida and co-founder and CEO of the non-profit organization “Women’s Brain Project”. She is the Vice-president of Euresearch. Since 2018 she is listed among the top 100 Women in Business in Switzerland and in 2019 she has been elected Woman of the Year in Switzerland by the Magazine “Women in Business”. In 2020, she received the World Sustainability Award for her involvement in advancing Precision Medicine. Dr. Santuccione Chadha is keenly interested in removing bias when developing solutions for mental and neurological diseases to achieve precision medicines.
Prof. Andrea E. Rizzoli
Professor / Director of IDSIA, USI-SUPSI
Prof. Andrea E. Rizzoli is the director of IDSIA and professor at SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland). He holds a M.Sc. in Control Engineering (1989) and a Ph.D. in Control Engineering and Informatics (1993). His research interests are in modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, in the development of environmental decision support systems for natural resources management, and in the application of artificial intelligence and operations research techniques to environmental problems. Dr. Rizzoli has authored more than 150 scientific publications.
Dr. Marija Plodinec
CEO & Co-Founder ARTIDIS
Marija Plodinec Ph.D. studied physics in Zagreb and received her doctorate in 2010 from the University of Basel. She co-founded and CEO of ARTIDIS AG; a clinical-stage medical technology company that developed the first Nanomechanical Signature for cancer diagnosis and treatment optimization, enabling swift and precise oncological diagnostics in under three hours, effectively shifting the paradigm of cancer care from central labs to the patient’s bedside.
She is a recognized expert in the field of physical sciences in oncology and has co-authored important scientific papers and patents in this field. Dr. Plodinec is also a member of several international organizations focusing on cancer research and its clinical applications.
In this workshop, let’s delve deeper into the topic of research projects where digitalization is applied to improve our health and our everyday lifestyle followed by showcasing a unique case for change: interactive and collaborative workshop on the AutoPlay project, a methodology for early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorders by using Internet of Things and Data Science based methodologies.
