Hackathons originated in the late 1990s from the tech community as time-limited events to promote collaborative innovation.
During a hackathon, participants form smaller teams work together intensively, often for 24–48 hours. They create innovative projects or solutions within a specific theme or challenge. #herHACK 20.23 is a unique form of a hackathon with a special focus on women and sustainability. Participants brainstorm ideas, design prototypes, write code, and present their final products to judges and a larger audience. The atmosphere is dynamic, with a strong sense of excitement, teamwork, a focus on learning and networking. Pushing creative boundaries is key for successful hackathons and for #herHACK no prior knowledge is needed!
We are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the UN Agenda 2030. By participating in #herHACK, you not only set an effective example for women in the tech industry but also make an active contribution to the sustainable, economic, social and environmental development of society.
Our partners are currently preparing the challenges in line with the SDGs for you to work on. Choose the one where you want to make an impact and find solutions while being mentored by our experts.
Tech background or not, don’t worry, we believe in the power of diversity to come up with unique solutions. In the application you have the opportunity to join a “techie” team with a focus on coding or a mixed team where the focus lies on the ideation process and a low-code MVP solution.
